A railway line between Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton has closed due to engineering works.

A replacement bus service would run between the stations until Monday, said National Rail, adding the service could be busier than usual.

Routes running from Aberystwyth to Birmingham New Street and Birmingham International are affected.

Affected services include those delivered by West Midlands Railway and Transport for Wales, which said tickets with other train operators were being accepted for travel beyond Wolverhampton to Birmingham.

National Rail recommended allowing extra time for journeys and checking routes before travelling.
