Plans submitted for two children's homes

Plans have been submitted for convert two village houses into children's homes.

One house in Ash Grove, Pontesbury, Shropshire, and another in nearby Plealey, will each house up to two young people aged between eight and 18.

Yorkshire-based inkfish Care has applied to Shropshire Council for permission for the development.

Submitting planning statements for both proposals, Michael Lloyd, of the planning consultants Berrys, said: "The management team possesses extensive knowledge in caring for children, with over 90 years of combined experience."

He added: "They have successfully led care organisations within Shropshire, creating environments recognised by both social services and Ofsted as outstanding for children's wellbeing, choosing the right environments for recovery."

Two adults will provide 24-hour care, with a manager present three or four days a week.

A decision on both proposals is expected to be made in May.
