A man has been arrested after a body was discovered at a property in Bath.
Avon and Somerset Police were called to an address in Kelston View just after midday on Tuesday where a man, believed to be in his 70s, was found dead.
A 29-year-old man was arrested in the Oxford area as part of the murder investigation and he remains in custody.
Senior investigating officer Det Insp Neil Meade, of the Major Crime Investigation Team, said: "Our thoughts are with the man's family at this deeply upsetting time."
He added: "We appreciate this news will come as a shock to the community but wish to reassure people that we have a team of detectives investigating this case and we do not at this time consider there to be any increased risk to other members of the public."

A police spokesperson said the formal identification process had not yet been completed but the man's next of kin had been informed and they were being supported by family liaison officers.
Det Insp Meade said inquiries were being carried out at the address.
"The local neighbourhood team will be conducting extra patrols around the area to ensure we have uniformed officers and PCSOs available to speak to anyone with concerns," he added.
Anyone with information that could assist the investigation is asked to call 101.
