Moped rider seriously hurt in hit-and-run crash
GoogleA moped rider has been seriously hurt in a hit-and-run crash with a car.
Leicestershire Police said he was involved in a head-on crash with the car in East Park Road, Leicester, shortly after 12:00 BST on Friday.
Detectives said the car, believed to be a green Mercedes E-Class, left without stopping and they are now trying to find the driver.
The moped rider, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he remained on Saturday, a spokesperson added.
Officers said it was thought the car left the area along East Park Road towards St Saviour's Road.
They have appealed to anyone who saw the crash, which happened near the junction with Blanklyn Avenue, to contact them.
They said they also wanted to hear from anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage, taken in the area at the time.
