Police pull man's body from canal

The body of a man has been pulled from water at a canal in Netherton, police have confirmed.

It was discovered on Friday morning and brought to the canalside by police with assistance from firefighters.

Emergency services were called to the scene off Cradley Road shortly after 9:00 GMT.

West Midlands Police said the death was not believed to be suspicious.

West Midlands Fire Service sent crews from Tipton and Haden Cross, supported by a crew of specialist technical rescue firefighters.

A spokesperson said: "Very sadly, attending paramedics pronounced the individual dead at the scene. We left the incident with West Midlands Police in attendance."

Police said inquiries were being carried out.
