Anti-social behaviour crackdown in town centre
Police have staged a crackdown on anti-social behaviour in a Kent town centre following concerns raised by residents and shopkeepers.
Officers stepped up patrols in Chatham High Street, which resulted in officers seizing five e-scooters and confiscating alcohol from street drinkers.
Eviction notices were also served on people who had set up tents near the riverside.
Insp Paul Diddams said: "We are aware that local people want robust enforcement to tackle some of the issues that can affect their quality of life.
"Those who continue to commit crime or cause a nuisance will receive regular attention and appropriate sanctions from the town's beat constables until they put a stop to their disorderly behaviour."
Trading standards officers also seized illegal vapes from two shops, while three men were arrested on suspicion of theft during the operation on 13 December.
