Council launches app for leisure centre bookings

A new app aims to make booking activities at leisure centres in Mid Devon an easier experience for users.

Mid Devon District Council said its Active Mid Devon app, which launched last month, lets users book and manage classes, view schedules, join wait lists and set reminders.

It said it wanted to encourage healthy lifestyles through physical activity, health checks and socialising.

Andy Mackie, operations manager, said more than 10,000 bookings were made through the app in its first week.

He said: "Now we have a new app to make booking our facilities, and taking part in the healthy lifestyle activities we offer, even easier."
