Police in Alderney have said two car thefts on Friday night and a crash at the harbour in the early hours of Saturday, were linked.

A blue Peugeot 206 was taken from Victoria Street and a black Citroen Picasso was taken from the area of White Gates, and there was a collision at the harbour which caused "significant damage" to a black 4x4, the force said on Facebook.

Alderney Police said after a "weekend of hard work" it had now confirmed the incidents were connected and were "likely committed by the same offenders".

Officers have identified two individuals they wish to speak to in relation to the incidents and they are known to be off island, the police said.

Alderney Police has urged residents and visitors not to leave keys inside vehicles or leave vehicles unlocked.
