Two average speed cameras on the A361 between Landkey and South Molton caught fire on Tuesday evening

Police in Devon investigating fires at two speed cameras are treating the incidents as suspected arson.

The fires, at the average speed cameras on the A361 between Landkey and South Molton, were believed to have started between 20:45 GMT and 22:00 on Tuesday, Devon and Cornwall Police said.

Officers said they were keen to speak to anybody who noticed any suspicious activity around the area that evening.

Police asked anyone with information or witnesses to contact them, quoting incident 50250032295.

Parts of the A361 were recently earmarked for a £1m investment in AI-enabled speed cameras, although the cameras affected by the suspected arson were outside that stretch of road.
