Mark Gordon refuses to answer prosecution questions

Mark Gordon has refused to answer questions from the prosecution during his retrial at the Old Bailey.
He gave evidence on Wednesday where he blamed the death of his newborn baby on the police manhunt for him and his partner Constance Marten.
Gordon, 50, and Marten, 38, deny manslaughter by gross negligence and causing or allowing the death of a child - their daughter Victoria.
Victoria's decomposed body was found in a shopping bag in a Brighton allotment shed in March 2023, two months after they went on the run.
During the previous trial, Marten and Gordon were found guilty of concealing Victoria's birth and perverting the course of justice by not reporting her death.
Gordon no longer has barristers to represent him, so the judge Mark Lucraft KC asked him questions to lead him through his evidence.
But on Friday when it came to the moment for the prosecution barrister Tom Little KC to ask him questions, Gordon refused to continue.
"Alright that's it, I have finished with my testimony," Gordon said.
Then after a short exchange with the judge he said: "I will answer no questions."
Judge Lucraft said he would be directing the jury what the implications were "in due course."
The trial continues.
